About Us

Where Your Story Meets Ours

Welcome to King Cole Farm, Delaware’s premier event venue for romantic, unforgettable memories. The Farm is a countryside escape located between Delaware’s capital of Dover and the waters of the Delaware Bay. What started as a family home on 654 acres of working farmland has grown into a place where we get to help people celebrate their biggest milestones.

We’re proud to host intimate or elaborate wedding weekends, galas, reunions, corporate events, and more. King Cole Farm has focused on keeping the property’s natural beauty at the forefront with garden views by The Residence, the rustic, modern charm of the Pole Barn, and the romantic sophistication of the Garden Room. We’re just a short drive from Philadelphia, D.C., and Baltimore, but once you’re out here among the corn and soybean fields, it feels a world away. We’d love to have you out to the farm to see it for yourself.

Our History

654 Acres of Heritage and Heart

From the days of Caesar Rodney, signer of the Declaration of Independence, through the shaping of the United States, two World Wars, and the turn of four centuries, history has been made at King Cole Farm. For generations, King Cole Farm has been a family-owned and maintained treasure that still continues to operate as a working farm today.

The farm’s name carries the legacy of the King Cole Canning Company, once owned by Harry and Audrey Owens Draper. From the very beginning, the Drapers envisioned this land as a place where friends and family could gather to share “magical moments” away from the rest of the world.

In 2003, Sally Draper Dickerson and Chester T. Dickerson Jr. built The Residence, followed by the Pole Barn in 2006. For years, these weren’t just buildings, but their home and farming operation. Their halls were constantly filled with the laughter of weddings, the warmth of anniversaries, and the joy of family reunions. Sally and Chester believed that the true value of the farm was found in sharing it with others.

Upon passing, they wished to keep the property operational and maintained for generations to come. Today, we carry that torch forward, and we are sharing our family’s heritage with yours. When you celebrate here, you’re becoming a part of a centuries-old tradition of joy, community, and love. Come to the farm and see for yourself!
